Organizational Goals
Goals of the New Mexico Direct Caregivers Coalition include:
1.
Career Opportunities and Advancement
Additional training and education is important to caregivers and is also a means of professionalizing the field. The Coalition's website has job postings and professional training opportunities.
2.
Job Benefits
Health insurance and respite is a top concern to caregivers around the state. The Coalition works to improve benefits and to create alternative methods of respite care.
3.
Social and Professional Networking
All caregivers have a need for affiliation and networking. A message board is coming soon to the Coalition's website to improve communication. The Coalition is the space for personal and professional networking.
4.
Advocacy
Caregivers so often advocate for persons with disabilities and those who are elderly. By joining the Coalition, caregivers themselves can raise awareness for the causes important to their own personal and professional growth, creating a unified voice for those working in the field.
Whether you are a direct care employee or a family caregiver, becoming a member of the New Mexico Direct Caregivers Coalition gives you a voice to tackle issues like those listed above.
